On 8-9 November 2013 RNS professors Rainer Kattel and Jan Kregel will be speaking at “The Eurozone Crisis, Greece, and the Experience of Austerity”, a conference focusing on Hyman Minsky's extensive work on the structure of financial systems to ensure stability and the role of government in achieving a growing and equitable economy.
Professor Kattel’s speech is entitled “Baltic Austerity – The New False Hope”, focusing on the economic performance of Ireland and the Baltics. Professor Kregel will talk about Greece’s recent experience in the eurozone. The conference takes place at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre and is organized by the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College with support from the Ford Foundation.
