The 34th European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) Annual Conference in Bergen, Norway, features 8 members of TUT Department of Public Administration presenting their research papers. The conference will be held on 5-8 September and it is organised in collaboration with the Department of Administration and Organisation Theory of the University of Bergen.
Jelizaveta Krenjova and Senior Research Fellow Dr. Ringa Raudla will present their “Participatory Budgeting at the Local Level: Challenges and Opportunities for New Democracies” under the Permanent Study Group IV: Local Governance and Democracy.
The programme for the Permanent Study Group VI: Governance of Public Sector Organisations will include a presentation by Research Fellow Külli Sarapuu and Senior Research Fellow Dr. Veiko Lember entitled “Evolvement of coordination instruments in the provision of prehospital emergency medical service in Estonia”.
Professor Tiina-Randma Liiv and Junior Research Fellow Riin Kruusenberg present during the session on Public Policies (Permanent Study Group XII) and their paper is entitled “Public policy making in time of crisis: the tasks, role and responses of agency level bureaucrats in the cutback management in Estonia”.
The Permanent Study Group XV: Public Administration, Technology and Innovation, co-chaired by DPA’s professors Wolfgang Drechsler and Rainer Kattel, will feature two presentations by DPA faculty members: Research Fellow Dr. Margit Kirs’ topic is “Co-evolution of Technology and Governance – Why Conventional Innovation Policy does not Work in the Context of Transition Countries? The Example of Central and Eastern Europe” and Senior Research Fellow Dr. Tarmo Kalvet together with Research Fellow Kaija Valdmaa will give a presentation entitled “Barriers for born globals and open innovation in catching-up economies: Evidence from Estonia’s clean technology developers “.
