DPA professors participated at an innovation and development meeting in Siena


Professors Rainer Kattel and Jan Kregel of the Department of Public Administration gave presentations on May 14-15th at the meeting of SPID (School for Advanced Studies in Strategies, Policies, Innovation and Development) in Siena, Italy.

Professor Kregel’s presentation was part of the session entitled “Building bridges: Interdisciplinary analytical approaches to an increasingly global landscape”. Professor Kattel participated at the “Global challenges, opportunities and domestic responses: re-assessing state capacities and institutional comparative advantages” session, his Prezi presentation can be seen here.

The event was co-sponsored by MINDS (Multidisciplinary Institute for Development and Strategies), a network focusing on historical analysis, economic sociology, institutional, evolutionary and Post-Keynesian economics. Professor Kregel serves as its president and Professor Kattel is a board member. Another MINDS board member, Professor Jayati Ghosh (Jawarharlal Nehru University, New Delhi) is also closely affiliated with TUT Department of Public Administration as she was the first holder of the Ragnar Nurkse Visiting Professor in Development Policies who taught in Tallinn in May 2011.
