Academic Actus in Honor of Carlota Perez

On 21 September 2009, Carlota Perez, Professor of Technology Governance and Socio-Economic Development at Tallinn University of Technology and international consultant, will celebrate a round birthday. Carlota is most famous for her theory of Techno-Economic Paradigms, and she is widely acknowledged today as one of the few scholars who both correctly predicted the current crisis and in whose system it actually fits. To honor this occasion, her colleagues have edited a Festschrift, entitled “Techno-Economic Paradigms” (London: Anthem), which includes essays by such innovation luminaries as Giovanni Dosi, Chris Freeman, Bengt-Ake Lundvall, Richard Nelson and others.

This Festschrift will be presented to Carlota during an academic actus on her birthday, at 3 pm, in the new building of the TUT Faculties of Economics and Social Sciences, Akadeemia street 3. Next to the presentation, the actus will also include a laudatio, the conferral of a teaching award, and a lecture by Carlota herself. Reception to follow.
