Abstract: Civilian drones are mainly used for capturing images that are out of reach. As the technology advanced, they have contributed in many ways for the society. The market for civilian drones is growing rapidly worldwide, however, the regulatory concerns also increase. Many countries including China, have released policies to control civilian drones, which brings a great challenge for the development of the industry. This thesis analyzes the current policy mix for civilian drones in China from the areas of regulatory, economic and financial, and soft instruments, and discusses the possible impact for the industry in terms of stimulating innovation.
